Name: Gary Minton
Occupation: Corporate Account Manger

Describe your daily job:

I speak with customers from medium to large businesses. I help with all utilities ranging from electricity & gas, to water & telecoms. I look after their accounts, making sure we can save them money on all their utilities. I also look after any issues they may have and make sure they never go out of contract. Part of my job everyday is to make sure I’m keeping up to date with the energy market and any potential changes that may affect my clients.

How long have you been at Watt Utilities?

1 year 8 months.

How have you seen the energy market change since you joined Watt?

Right now the energy market is very volatile, with Brexit looming everything looks to be on the increase. Gas has sky rocketed since the bad weather but I am hoping to see that reduce once we start having a warm spring/summer (fingers crossed for the sun!)

If you weren’t working at Watt, what do you think you would be doing?

I’d love to say footballer but realistically I’d probably be working in finance or recruitment. I wouldn’t be working for anyone as good as Watt Utilities I know that.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Love spending time with my 6 year old son Jacob, getting as much quality Dad time as I can. I also play Crown Green Bowls for a team in Manchester, and this year looking to defend our Cheshire championship. And who doesn’t like a good holiday!

If you had to drink one beverage for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tough one this but if it was Alcoholic it would have to be Ursus Sloe Berry Vodka which you can only get in Greece. Tastes just like Ribena haha!

What is the best show you have seen on TV in the last 12 months?

Easy …… The Blacklist, once you watch one episode you’ll be hooked.

If you had to invite three people to dinner, who would they be?

1 – Jeff Stelling (Hartlepool FC God)…Yes that’s my team!

2 – My Grandad

3 – Les Dawson…just for the jokes!

Finally, why would you recommend a business to get in touch with you and Watt Utilities for their utility contracts?

We work non stop to get you the best rates for your business and it wouldn’t stop there. We’re there helping even after your new rates are sorted, you don’t just get cheaper bills, you get an Account Manager to keep an eye on everything for you.
